There was a vision given to a young man in 1997. The vision encompassed feeding the homeless and shut-ins. It included clothing those who were not able to clothe themselves. It is a vision of wholistic ministry, meeting the needs of those who could not help themselves.
This vision was the brainchild of George Frederick, and the name of the vision became Hope House Ministries.

Hope House Ministries has been operating for over 25 years in San Antonio, TX. What started out as a group serving hot meals eventually expanded into a non-profit organization that offers programs to assist the community with food, clothing, job placement training, and utility vouchers.
In addition to the food and clothing program, we provide counseling and intensive rehabilitation programs designed to help qualified participants escape the grip of alcohol and drug addiction, unemployment, and hopelessness. With our community outreach program, Hope Workforce Ministry, we provide basic life-skills training to help people find paths to success.

We take care to provide our clients with quality services personalized to their unique needs. Our staff members are professional, courteous, and efficient.
Food Bank / Pantry
Our food giveaway is a collaboration with the San Antonio Food Bank and occurs Mondays and Fridays between 11:00am and 3:00pm unless stated otherwise.
Clothes Giveaway
For those in need of clothes, our clothes giveaway is open daily from 10:00am – 4:00pm.
Lawn & Garden Service
A new community offering bringing care and beautification to neighborhood spaces.
Job Placement Training
Through Hope Workforce Ministry, we provide basic life-skills training to help people find paths to success.
Counseling & Rehabilitation
Intensive programs designed to help qualified participants escape the grip of addiction, unemployment, and hopelessness.
Utility Vouchers
Assistance for community members facing hardship with their basic utility needs.
House on Cherry Street
